Suzuki looks to take Toyota’s Rush and Honda’s BR-V head on by adding the XL6, a  sportier and more premium version of their 7-seater MPV offering, Ertiga.

To start, the XL6 shares the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine and runs at a respectable 103 hp and 138 Nm of torque. This is also mated to a five-speed manual  or a four-speed automatic transmission.

While it runs on the same engine, its exterior is better as the XL6 features a handsome chrome front grille, LED daytime running lights, and roof rails that give it its SUV look. All black alloy wheels complete the sporty feel.
The car comes in two variants: zeta and alpha. Both variants share the same exterior, but with the latter offering premium features.

Inside, the XL6 has comfortable seating for six with a pair of captain seats in the middle row similar to that of Ertiga’s top of the line variant. The captain seats can slide and give enough space to allow easy entry for passengers to the back row.

The car also has a dual A/C system, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and accessory sockets for everyone’s charging needs. There are also standard reverse parking sensors and stability control with hill hold for added safety.

There’s still no official launch date for the XL6  in the Philippines, but if it does arrive here, we can expect the base model at around PhP 800,000 and the top variant at around PhP 900,000 to PhP 1,000,000. That will be less than the price range of the Honda BR-V, Toyota Rush, and the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross.
