Aston Martin Vantage GT8

Aston Martin just revealed the limited edition Vantage GT8. The Vantage GT8 is based on the V8 Vantage and is inspired by the GTE race car.

Powering the car is the 4.7L V8 but is tuned to get a 10 bhp power bump for an output of 440 bhp. Power is sent to the rear wheels either through a six-speed manual or a seven-speed Sportshift single clutch automatic.

While the power bump might not seem much, Aston has focused on putting the car on a diet. The car weights 100 kilograms less than the standard car thanks to carbon fiber panels, acrylic windows, and magnesium wheels.

Aston hasn’t released any performance details like 0-100 kph times. The GTE race car on which this is based is much lighter and packs 480 horses.

Fans might remember a similar limited-run GT12 model that V12 Vantage S made last year. The GT8 will have a 150 unit run and has officially sold around 75%.
