Rolls-Royce Wraith

I really don’t get the point of teasers so thank goodness Rolls-Royce finally came out with the real details of the new Wraith. If you’re wondering for what purpose this car is, just think of it as Rolls’ combatant to the hyper-luxury market that’s currently being bossed by the Bentley Continental GT.

Power figures peg the car to go from 0 to 100 kph in 4.4 seconds thanks to a massive V12 engine that  dishes out 624 hp. That basically outpaces the Bentley by 0.2 seconds. (Like you’d ever be hitting a dragstrip with these cars side by side. Unless you’re Top Gear, of course.) The engine’s mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic.

The car features a sloped rear fastback-style and suicide doors to give the massive car a sporty look. Firm suspensions and heavier steering round up the sporty feel to the car. Inside, there’s still the swathe of luxury with leather and wood.

Rolls wants the car to be a “gentleman’s gran turismo.” But really. This car’s mainly for those European football players with much money to burn on shredding tires in supposed rolling cathedrals.
