Formula 1 2013 Australian GP

Looks like it’s time to give Lotus some due attention this Formula 1 season. For the longest time, it’s been Red Bull and their fast cars that have dominated the scene allowing young speedster Sebastian Vettel to dominate.

Winning the first race of the season is former world champ Kimi Raikkonen piloting the Lotus edging out second-place winner Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) thanks to some wicked strategy.

Pole-sitter Vettel finished third place ahead of Ferrari’s Felipe Massa and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton.

Raikkonen started the race in 7th place but made up places all the way to the finish with some clever pit strategy. Lotus went on with a two-stop strategy and, with some clever tire-management, edged out Ferrari and Red Bull who opted for three stops.
