Plenty of Pinoys sport iPhones these days and that means there is a growing market for an app market. Since the gadget market overlaps heavily with the motoring market, companies like Goodyear are keen to cater to geek gearheads.

Goodyear just launched a new iPhone app – the Goodyear Highway Helper. Basically, it’s an on-the-go guidebook that features car and tire maintenance and troubleshooting tips. There’s also games and quizzes.

The most practical feature of the app is the service center locator which allows users to locate the nearest Goodyear service center in case they need a quick service while on the go. The app also features emergency contact details for towing and police assistance.

Pretty nifty app though it does limit itself to those who are Goodyear loyalists. If your car is still relatively new and under warranty, it’s still best to avail of your insurance’s towing services (they do have hotlines for that) and have your car serviced by an accredited service center by your brand/dealer.

Check it out over at iTunes app store or Goodyear Philippines.
