The Aston Martin Rapide comes as the contender for the growing market for super fast saloon cars currently inhabited by the likes of the Maserati Quattroporte and the Porsche Panamera.

Aston has been working on a more powerful version of the Rapide and the latest update on the upgraded car is that it will be getting the same engine from the DBS.

The 6.0L V12 from the DBS churns out an additional 40 horses with a total output of 510 hp. The base model (pictured) dishes out just 470 hp. With the added oomph, the next-gen Rapide will get a sprint time of 4.7 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. Top speed is still 188 mph.

Aside from the engine upgrade, the car also gets some body upgrades. The Rapide has gotten a strong demand from China accounting for 60% of current interest on the car.
